Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What happens if we don’t need the storage for as long as expected?
A: No problem, we’ll simply come and remove it. The costs are all worked out in advance, so whether you want to knock a month off, or add a month (or year) on to your hire period – you’ll only be billed for what you use.

Q: Do temporary buildings require planning permission?
A: There is no precise answer – However, the limit for development not requiring planning permission is a freestanding temporary building with a gross floor space of 200M². But in many cases, a building smaller than this, in an existing industrial estate, away from access, parking or boundaries would be permitted. But we recommend checking the interpretation of these rules each time. Plus, even should a building not require planning permission, it’s still a requirement that the local planning authority is notified of the completion of the building as soon as reasonably practicable.

Q: Does the build take long?
A: Once we’ve got the go ahead, the build should take between a day, and a week, depending on the style of storage being erected.
